Since 1988, the community Supported Garden at Genesis Farm has provided an opportunity for a community of people to take responsibilty for supporting a farm. While sharing the abundance and the costs of cultivating our food in a healthy way, we are also increasing the fertility of the soil and enhancing the quality of our relationships to the land and to each other.

 

NEWS WINDOW:

Dear Garden Members,

If you are on the payment schedule for your share, the 3rd and final payment is due on October 1st. This means your share should be paid in full by next week unless alternative arrangements have been made with Smadar. Thanks in advance for your prompt payment.

Our annual Harvest Festival will be held on Sunday, October 19th. This is always one of the most fun days of the year in the life of our Garden. It will include large winter crop harvesting, children's activities, a delicious potluck dinner, music and a bonfire. This year we will also be celebrating the Garden's 20th anniversary! We hope you can spend this special day (or at least part of it) with us. If you're interested in helping plan the day or leading an activity, please talk to Smadar.

The Harvest Festival particulars:
Date: Sunday, October 19th (Rain date: Sunday, October 26th)
Time: 1 pm for harvesting, 5 pm potluck dinner, but come when you can.
Where: CSG Gardenhouse (harvesting is usually across the road)
What to bring:
Dish to share (if you're staying for dinner)...we work up a big appetite!
Warm outdoor work clothing -- it gets chilly after sunset and sometimes before
Dinnerware / eating utensils to cut down on disposables
Instruments / sing-along songs to share around the bonfire if you want.

UPCOMING EVENTS AT THE GARDEN:

SEED SALE: Following the seed saving workshop (ending September 27), seed packets will be on sale at the distribution center.

Proceeds will go to the bread oven fund.

FALL HARVEST AND FESTIVAL: Sunday, October 19.

Mark your calendars for this special event. Help with the harvest. Enjoy the company of the garden community. Celebrate together by sharing favorite garden dishes. Special activities for the children. More details to be provided.
